Linux Journal Magazine
Linux Journal was a monthly print and digital magazine covering Linux, Android and all things Open-Source. As Art Director for the last 15 years, I took on the roles of designer, creative director, illustrator and more. I have overseen several redesigns of the print magazine, and when we "went digital," I again redesigned the magazine — this time with a focus on adapting the medium to the digital experience whether viewed on a desktop computer, mobile device or e-reader.
Each month we would produce an entire issue of Linux Journal. For me, that meant laying out articles and sections, designing the cover, creating illustrations and artwork, editing/retouching images, creating house ads and incorporating advertiser-supplied artwork. In the print days, I ensured that each page was output to press-ready files. For digital, I would output to a variety of digital media formats, including PDF, epub and .mobi.
